THE KEY TO CONFIDENT CLOSING
What is the hardest part about closing? What is holding you back from getting more sales, more sign-ups, more clients, into your business?
I would bet the farm you’re thinking “What to say! I don’t know what to say to get the person I am speaking with to say YES to buying from me, joining my team or hiring me as a coach”!
Would you like to know the magic words?
There ARE no magic words! The key to closing is not WHAT you say but HOW YOU SAY IT!
If I could sum up the key to closing in one word, what would it be? It would be BELIEF!!!!
Now, before you think “Oh great, it’s one of those believe in yourself speeches”, hear me out.
Remember I said it’s not WHAT you say but HOW you say it?
When speaking with a prospect, you MUST speak with UNYIELDING BELIEF!
- Unyielding belief about the products you promote!
- Unyielding belief about your business opportunity!
- Unyielding belief about your abilities!
- Unyielding belief about what you can do for this person as their coach!
When I speak about my business opportunity or working with me as a coach, the person I am talking to KNOWS beyond a shadow of a doubt that I 100% BELIEVE it COULD change their life!!!
You speak with such unyielding BELIEF about YOURSELF and WHERE YOU ARE GOING that your prospect wants to be a part of that!
YOU SPEAK WITH BELIEF, CONVICTION AND CONFIDENCE!!!
You HAVE POSTURE!!!
Your passion, posture, conviction, confidence and believe create MUCH more influence than the particular words that you use.
It also shapes how we are viewed by others!
People are ALWAYS drawn to a person with confidence!
If you were in need of surgery, and you were interviewing 2 different doctors to perform the surgery and one doctor says “ Um, yeah, I think I can help with this?” And the other doctor says “ OH! YES, I can help you with you with this!!!!
Which doctor are you going to choose?
The first doctor seems rather unsure of himself so does not instill a lot of confidence in you that he is the right doctor to chose.
The second doctor, makes you feel like he’s got this! You are in the right hands!
So, how much confidence are YOU instilling in your prospects that your product can help them, YOU are the right person to join or hire? The RIGHT person to help them!
If you sound like YOU don’t even believe you can help them then why would THEY believe it?
I am NOT saying you are going to make them think you are going to grow their business for them but they need to FEEL your confidence in your techniques!
If you lack posture, conviction, confidence and believe you won’t have any influence in the decisions they make. And THEY will go to join or hire the person who makes them feel SECURE in their decision.
So, your speech must be firm, decisive, clear, strong.
And be very careful how you end your sentences. Make a statement sound like a STATEMENT, not a question! Watch your intonation!
WEAK:
“So, you might want to take a look at what I’m doing???????”
STRONG:
“So, YOU might want to take a look at what I’m doing!!!!”
And you must NEVER lose your posture in a conversation. If you do, you get it back fast or get out of the conversation. Because you will be wasting your time if you’re in a conversation where your posture is weaker than the person you’re speaking to.
Some people will test you! And the conversation can become a bit of a power struggle! Them feeling the need to have MORE posture than you. Retain your posture!!!
You both can have equal posture but you must not have less!
So, now that you know this, you might be thinking “Oh God, I need more posture! More confidence in myself!”
I’m NOT talking about cockiness or arrogance, bluster or bravado. I’m talking about confidence and belief caused by actual optimism!
A self confident person radiates optimism about THEIR future and future outcomes.
You want to become more confident? Become more optimistic! Change your perception. Change your mindset.
Confidence comes from a fundamental belief that one can succeed. BELIEF in thyself!
So how do we become more confident? Practice!!!
When situations arise, where you aren’t feeling so confident, think back to a situation you have gone through, look for similarities. How did you deal with it? I’ll bet you handled it just fine! Realizing this WILL BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE!
And you do that over and over again. And your confidence will grow and grow.
So, the moral of this story is: the WAY you speak is more important than the WORDS you speak when desiring to influence others.
